)-- To better serve its customers, Bayer MaterialScience LLC has expanded its polycarbonate film production at its South Deerfield, Mass., facility. After this expansion, the facility has the capability to manufacture gloss-gloss and textured Makrofol® polycarbonate and Bayfol® polycarbonate-blend films.
These extremely versatile films are used in a broad range of applications, such as instrument panels, trade show displays, membrane switches, control panels and decals. Markets served include automotive, appliance, security and smart cards, medical, nameplate and labels, packaging, point of purchase (including signage), telecommunications and other hand-held electronic devices.
“We now have everything in place – the capacity, quality, service and technical expertise – to meet our customers’ needs,” said Shaun Gaus, general manager, Functional Films, North America, Bayer MaterialScience LLC.
Gaus, who points out their customers have relied on the ISO 9001 registered, 147,000-square-foot site to manufacture thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) and specialty elastomer film and sheet for more than 30 years, adds: “This further demonstrates our long-standing commitment to the films business and customers in North America.”
