Friends of Doylestown Airport Announces Growing Support for Its Citizens' Watch Initiative

In response to the flood of attention and positive response generated both in the community through its web site and the local activity on its Web site, http://www.friendsda.org, Friends of Doylestown Airport (FODA) is taking on a commitment to the community to give regular, condensed updates about its progress.

Doylestown, PA, February 06, 2007 --(PR.com)-- In response to the flood of attention and positive response generated both in the community and by the number of visits to its Web site, http://www.friendsda.org, Friends of Doylestown Airport (FODA) is taking on a commitment to the community to give regular, condensed news updates. These updates will report on progress it is making in clarifying facts and dispelling myths regarding the open space initiative and airport runway extension project following Buckingham Township’s aggressive action in rezoning property surrounding the airport to permit fuel storage, solid waste disposal and junkyards instead of an airport runway extension.

· FODA is actively contacting local, state and federal agencies to obtain fact-based information on airport safety issues, zoning issues, water quality protection issues and others to educate area neighbors about the facts related to land use and the airport runway extension project.

· FODA has initiated an “Ask FODA” inquiry system to handle the many email inquiries it is getting from those in the community who need better understanding of the issues.

· FODA membership is steadily growing as it is reaching out to individuals, groups and businesses to spread the word about the important role it is undertaking in the community.

· FODA is actively interviewing candidates who are in favor of open space and opposed to industrial development in Buckingham Township

Friends of Doylestown Airport welcomes new members to join its growing organization and invites volunteers to contribute time and talents to this all-volunteer town watch initiative. FODA is focused on ensuring that decisions made for the local community are based on facts and good judgment rather than emotion and politics.

FODA invites those in the community to visit its Web site, http://www.friendsda.org, for detailed information, to participate on its message boards or to sign up on its mailing list. For more information about membership or volunteering in this community effort, or to submit questions, email FODA at info@friendsda.org.
