Skills on the Agenda as Chamber Directors and Members Meet to Discuss Prospects for the Economy

Dundee, United Kingdom, January 20, 2011 --(PR.com)-- The directors of Dundee & Angus Chamber of Commerce and local businesses met on Tuesday 18th January to discuss the local economy's skill needs. Dundee College were in attendance at the meeting, allowing them to hear firsthand what skills local employers expect they will need in their businesses in the coming years.

Chris Lundie, President of Dundee & Angus Chamber of Commerce, said: "This region is very lucky it has two world-class universities and two of Scotland’s best FE colleges. They already have great links with local businesses, which has allowed them to produce students and graduates with the skills that local businesses need. We are delighted that the latest Chamber Board meeting will allow us to explore future developments in the local economy and what implications that has for the skills that businesses will need, and the courses and qualifications that the universities and colleges will provide. This will help keep our businesses and economy competitive."
