Tap It Brewing Co. of San Luis Obispo Granted Microbrewery License, Will Produce Hand-Crafted American All Malt Ales

Tap It Brewing Co., San Luis Obispo's newest microbrewery, debuts its inaugural hand-crafted American all malt Ales at industry tasting event January 24, 2011.

San Luis Obispo, CA, January 21, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Tap It Brewing Co. today announced that it has received a microbrewery license from the city of San Luis Obispo and has begun production of its inaugural all malt beers, an India Pale Ale and an American Pale Ale, at its new 10,000 square foot production Microbrewery just South of the city's eclectic downtown area.

"We love our work," said Brewery Manager and Head Brewer, Miles Gordon. "At Tap It, we feel brewing great beer is a way to bring friends, family, and community together to enjoy the small things here where we live on the Central Coast whether it's barbecuing, food and artisan beer pairings, or just gathering to watch the game on weekends."

"Several of our crew here at Tap It are alumni of California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo," said Emily Burgess, Tap It Brewing Director of Sales, who continued, "We live and work here in SLO and are proud to be one of the town's newest locally owned and operated businesses. Support from local merchants began even before we officially opened our tasting room. We are already stocked and recommended by local retailers Campus Bottle Shoppe, Cork 'n' Bottle, Creekside, Crossroads, Sandy's Deli Liquor, and Spikes."

Tap It Brewing Co. will host an industry party January 24th at their production facility on Clarion Court to celebrate the availability of their first two beers, an IPA and an APA. Attendance to the event is by invitation only. Industry insiders will be invited to discover why the entire crew at Tap It says "Tap it, Taste It, Love It!"

Immediately following the industry party, Tap It Brewing will invite the public into their tasting room located just South of the downtown. Beginning January 27th, the tasting room will be open Monday through Wednesday by appointment, Thursday through Friday from noon until 7:00pm, and Saturday from 11:00am until 6:00pm.

"Our production brewery was designed from the ground up to be state-of-the-art," said Lead Brewer John Huggins, "but it's our 7,000 gallon per day reverse osmosis system with inline UV filters that really has us grinning ear to ear. There will be absolutely nothing to disguise the pure flavor of our ingredients. Whether it's a citrus note from our Cascade hops, or the light caramel from our Special Roast malted barley, every taste from intense to subtle will shine through. From the crystal-pure water to the design of our brewhouse and high-tech cellar, we're ensuring optimum production quality to satisfy even the most die-hard aficionados."

There were only 44 American brewing companies a few decades ago and more than 90 percent of all U.S. beer consumed was made by the top six. Some might argue they all tasted about the same. Now, California microbreweries are helping to re-introduce traditional ales and other styles of craft beer back into American culture.

Tap It Brewing Co., LLC represents San Luis Obispo County's seventh microbrewery. Co-owner of Tap It, John Gordon, commented, "We have a great tradition of wine here, now with the microbrewery and craft beer landscape growing, it won't be long before this is known as Beer Country. The local brewers get together here regularly and are more friends than competitors. We make great beer here and are already developing the local brewers association to give each other the support we need to show off the region's outstanding craft beers to the world."

Initial distribution of Tap It Brewing ales will be in California with wider distribution to follow. Visit tapitbrewing.com for more information.
