Sacramento, CA, February 07, 2007 --(PR.com
)-- Skin care companies make their impression on the public in many ways but Makeup Art Cosmetics (MAC) has done it like no other. Skincare-News.com’s latest article, “Skin Care Pioneers – Part 4: Makeup Art Cosmetics (MAC)” explores the mysterious founders of this hugely popular company.
Unlike other makeup and skincare moguls, the founders of MAC weren’t so publicly visible:
Even though there is little biographical information on MAC's founder and CEO, Frank Toskan, his legacy and fame relating to his company is known. Toskan first worked as a Canadian hairstylist, makeup artist and photographer, according to Cosmeticdiscounter.com. Out of anyone, Toskan was the very person who could accurately speak on what the cosmetic and beauty world did and did not need.
Toskan realized he needed more than just a great product. He needed a partner:
Not long afterwards, Frank Toskan met and partnered up with a veteran entrepreneur and former owner of a beauty salon chain named Frank Angelo. While the two had an amazing line of products to offer, they met with some challenges in the beginning. Bank after bank refused to work with them and the two resorted to mortgaging what they could in order to get the company off the ground, according to Wikipedia.org. Their sacrifice paid off.
Through their efforts, MAC has accomplished what many cosmetics companies could only dream of:
Over the last 10 years, MAC cosmetics has introduced 160 shades of lipstick in seven different finishes, 150 eye shadows, 60 blushes and also includes a special line of hair care, according to Cosmeticdiscounter.com.
According to skin care expert, Danielle Robinson, finding information about MAC’s creators was frustrating. “Everyone loves MAC makeup and I was so surprised that I couldn’t find a lot of background info on the two men. I couldn’t even find a picture of them but I was able to put something together that could at least give readers a hint of what they went through to bring MAC to the forefront of the cosmetics industry.”
