Weber’s Inn in Ann Arbor, Michigan Completes Renovation of Lobby, Reception Area, Meeting Room

Weber's Inn renovations are completed with a "timeless design" that highlights the Ann Arbor hotel as a true boutique hotel.

Ann Arbor, MI, January 26, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Following the recent renovation of their meeting facilities, reception area, guest rooms and pool area, Weber’s Inn in Ann Arbor, Michigan, has completed a total renovation of the hotel’s front lobby area. The lobby project completes the one-year, $1 million public area renovation.

According to Ken Weber, President, “The renovations are stepped by design. You could say they’re perpetual since it’s an ongoing update process. This causes less inconvenience to our guests and allows us to complete each project in sequence so the entire facility isn’t at the end of a cycle at the same time.”

“For the lobby,” Weber continued, “We came up with a timeless design that avoided the short-lived excessive hotel trends of the ‘90s. What we have is a sleek, European look that combines natural elements with a unique lighting system and interesting details. Guests are raving about the new look.” The new lobby is bright, clean and crisp with a soft, subtle modern design. Rich natural rosewood walls add elegance and warmth to the area.

The lighting avoids harsh fluorescents, instead using the warm hues achieved from energy-efficient MR16 bulbs. The lighting is controlled by an elaborate Lutron dimming control system that is programmed to adjust ambient lighting levels throughout the day. The program automatically changes every week according to the seasonal sunrise and sunset of the specific latitude in Ann Arbor.

Facts:
• New modern front desk with Italian Calcutta crema dorato marble
• Spanish Vibia pendant chandeliers over the front desk
• New East Indian rosewood walls
• Italian porcelain floor stoneware 24” tiles by Atlas Concord
• Modern six-foot wide gas flame fireplace by Sparkfire
• New Zealand hand-spun virgin wool accent carpeting by Christopher Farr
• Upholstered furniture by Bernhardt design and Bright furniture
• All new entrance and energy-efficient floor-to-ceiling glazing

Preceding the changes to the lobby area, the ballroom redesign focused on a bright clean room with a cozy, modern design. The room is adaptable for everything from small corporate meetings, trade shows, and seminars to elegant wedding receptions. The lower ceilings add an intimacy that cannot be obtained in traditional barren convention halls.

The custom-designed and printed carpet was manufactured by Durkan Hospitality Carpet. Custom Lighting Concepts, Inc. of Montreal manufactured the custom chandeliers.

The reception area just outside the ballroom entrance and on the way to Weber’s Restaurant has an enticing retro-modern appearance with dark bamboo floors, faux fireplace, bright tomato-red walls, chocolate brown wood wall panels, and LED accent lighting. Luxury furniture by DellaRobbia, David Edward, Cabot Wrenn, Martin Brattrud, and Vibia complete the area’s visual appeal.

The boutique hotel’s four-season pool area was updated in a bright white and dark grey motif. A stainless steel and glass fence surrounds the classic kidney-shaped pool. The unique poolside balcony rooms with direct spiral staircase access to the pool are distinctive and very popular with guests. Weber’s Inn was one of the first American hotels in a northern climate to build an upscale indoor pool and recreation area with “poolside” rooms.

Located in the heart of Ann Arbor, MI, just minutes from the University of Michigan, Weber’s Hotel and Restaurant specialize in weddings, conventions and business conferences. Serving the hospitality needs of business and leisure travelers as well as local Ann Arbor dining guests, Weber’s features a four-seasons recreation area, complimentary Wi-Fi, 9,300 square feet of high-tech event space, and live music in its Habitat Ultra Lounge.
