Tewksbury, MA, January 27, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Terry Atamian, President of Atamian Volkswagen & Honda of Tewksbury, MA has donated over $40,000 in support of the Genesis Fund at the organization’s “A Magical Evening” event honoring Dr. Murray Feingold on Saturday, May 15th at the Westin Boston Waterfront Hotel. The Genesis Fund is a nonprofit organization dedicated to raising funds for the specialized care and treatment of New England area children born with birth defects, genetic diseases and intellectual disabilities.

Terry Atamian has also long been active in numerous community and charitable activities through the years, including the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation, Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Genesis Fund, Cam Neely Foundation and Tewksbury, Falmouth and Lowell youth organizations.

“The Genesis Fund is a cause near and dear to my heart,” said Atamian Volkswagen & Honda, Inc. President Reed Atamian. “There is more to being part of a community than running a business and it is our responsibility as a community member to give back to those in need.”

Dr. Feingold was honored by the Genesis Fund for his 50 years as a physician and 40 years as a media professional by dedicating The Feingold Center for Children in his name.

"The Atamian donation to the Genesis Fund comes at a time when funds are desperately needed to allow us to continue to help children with birth defects and mental retardation,” said Dr. Murray Feingold. “We are expanding our role on Cape Cod and now have two Genetic clinics, one at the Cape Cod Hospital and the other at the Rehabilitation Hospital of the Cape and Islands. The Genesis Fund is also expanding its Therapy and Performing Arts program on the Cape. The Atamian donation will allow us to continue these Cape Cod activities and also helps provide medical services to our patients at the Feingold Center for Children."

The Atamian Family’s donation was used to purchase the “A Magical Evening’s” Live Auction “Titletown Package,” which includes 4 tickets to attend an upcoming 2010-2011 Boston Bruins game in the Bruins Alumni Box with Bruins Legend Terry O’Reilly. The Atamian Family has donated these tickets to the Falmouth Youth Hockey League as an item to be auctioned after the league’s golf tournament at the Cape Cod Country Club on Monday, May 24th. Last year, the Atamian Family donated over $3,500 to the league in support of its fundraising efforts.

“The Atamian Family has been a champion of generosity for Falmouth Youth Hockey League over the past several years,” said Falmouth Youth Hockey President Paul P. Moore. “They not only donate their time but also their money. The Atamians’ generous donations over the years have helped Falmouth Youth Hockey keep its tuition affordable for the kids in the Falmouth Community.”
