National Arbitration Forum to Sponsor the Tort Trial and Insurance Practice Section of the American Bar Association

As a Section Corporate Sponsor, the National Arbitration Forum will seek to heighten awareness among over 27,000 TIPS members of out-of-court solutions for resolving disputes.

Minneapolis, MN, April 20, 2005 --(PR.com)-- The National Arbitration Forum (NAF) announced today that it has entered into a two-year sponsorship of work of the Tort Trial and Insurance Practice Section of the American Bar Association. The Tort Trial and Insurance Practice Section (TIPS) is the only professional group in the country that brings together plaintiff's lawyers, defense lawyers, and insurance and corporate counsel from all practice areas to exchange information and share ideas from all legal perspectives. TIPS is one of the most wide-ranging sections in the ABA with over 27,000 member attorneys. The TIPS Spring Meeting in New Orleans, April 27 – May 1, 2005, will mark the commencement of this new relationship.

As a Section Corporate Sponsor, NAF will participate and collaborate in a variety of initiatives to heighten awareness of its full spectrum of alternative dispute resolution solutions with TIPS members, including eight major Section meetings during 2005-2006, a survey of TIPS members during early 2005, and various CLE presentations. “We are very excited to be sponsor of TIPS for both 2005 and 2006,” said Curtis Brown, general counsel for the National Arbitration Forum. “Our organizations are perfectly aligned as TIPS is the only organization that brings together parties from all sides of the legal landscape, and our ADR solutions provide insurers, policyholders, and trial attorneys alike with the same outcomes as court—in considerably less time and with significantly less expense.”

TIPS Section Chair Jim Carroll concurs. “TIPS is very excited about this new relationship with the National Arbitration Forum. It will provide our members with an opportunity for new and practical benefits, while allowing the Section to further expand the scope of services available to its members.”
