Great Falls Marketing-Raising Money for Camp Sunshine in Maine with Mustache Monday

Great Falls Marketing employees are teaming up and putting their best mustache forward. Participants will be sporting their best mustache on Monday, January 31 to raise money for Camp Sunshine; a retreat for children with life-threatening illnesses and their families.

Auburn, ME, January 30, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Great Falls Marketing has been involved with various community events in Southern and Central Maine for many years. Money from “Mustache Monday” is going straight to Camp Sunshine; a retreat for children with life-threatening illnesses and their families. As a growing inbound call center, Great Falls employees are close to 350 people between their Auburn and South Portland locations.

What is Mustache Monday? Scott MacCheyne, CEO and President of Great Falls describes; “Around the first of the year many staffers were growing facial hair so I suggested we all wear mustaches. It started out as a joke but quickly many staffers jumped on the bandwagon and decided to pick a charity and institute “Mustache Monday”. We made it official and pronounced that the last Monday of January is now Mustache Monday. We have executive, sales manager and agents participating.”

Mike Frautten, CFO adds, “We decided to turn something foolish and fun into a great charitable event. Those participating in showing off their mustache will pay $5.00 to enter and all employees who want to vote for the best, worst and most Tom Selleck mustache must pay $1.00. In addition all employees that pay an additional $2.00 on Monday, January 31, can wear jeans and hats to work. Again, all money raised will go to Camp Sunshine in Casco, Maine.”

Great Falls Marketing chooses various local charities every couple months to support. Director of Marketing, Steve Mondor adds, “Camp Sunshine is an organization near and dear to our hearts. It’s all about the kids who need help. We want to make the last Monday of January a national day of observance for the mustache. It has been a buzz around the company and has built camaraderie with everyone.”
