Jr. Moxxies Take Another Step Toward Success

Jr. Moxxie Program is making strides for the next generation of women!

Brightwaters, NY, January 31, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Moxxie Network announced today the latest developments in its Jr. Moxxie program, with two prestigious award winners for the year—Mentor of the Year and Mentee of the Year. The winners for the first year of the program are: Paula Sucharski, CW Post, for Mentee of the Year and her Mentor of the Year, Dawn Davidson Drantch of Alcott HR Group. These two women are among the winners of Moxxie Network’s first Purple Pump Awards—chosen for their commitment to being engaged in the Jr. Moxxie Program.

Commitment to Jr. Moxxie required consistency in all of the following areas for both the Mentor and Mentee: meeting with each other regularly; participating in business and networking events together; visiting at the Mentor’s workplace; participating in Jr. Moxxie Discussion Prompts; commenting on Jr. Moxxie Blog posts; re-committing to each other to ensure success; being involved in Moxxie Girl/Girl Scout events; and attending the annual Dress for Success event.

“I am very honored and grateful to have received the Mentee of the Year Award,” says Paula Sucharski. “More importantly, I am honored to be a member of the Jr. Moxxie Program. As a member of the program, I have come to feel empowered through being surrounded by a network of strong, independent career women. Overall, I have learned that anything is possible.”

The Mentee of the Year received two additional gifts: her ticket to the Moxxie Holiday Party and a $100 American Express Gift Card. Paula and Dawn were both treated to a hair and make-up makeover prior to the award ceremony, compliments of Cactus Hair Salon.

“It is always beneficial to be able to have a relationship with someone who has ‘been there and done that,’” says Dawn Davidson Drantch, “and I wanted to be able to share that with a young college woman who has all those questions and fears about just starting out in the ‘real’ world. The mentoring program has been very rewarding for me in that way, and now I appreciate more than ever, the women who had unofficially mentored me throughout the years.”

The Jr Moxxie Program is all about leveraging the experience of seasoned professional women to guide, direct and develop the careers of future business women. Moxxie Network accomplishes this by partnering with several prestigious colleges and universities to provide select students with a one-year structured mentoring program with trained mentors. This is an opportunity scarcely offered to young women just beginning to map out their futures.

The Jr. Moxxie Program is the only one of its kind, offering exciting opportunities for young women to join their mentors on field trips to prominent New York based businesses. Here are a few recent events that gave Jr. Moxxies exposure to women in positions they may have their eye on some day.

On January 6, 2011, Jr. Moxxies and their Mentors were guests of Deutsch Inc.—one of the finest Advertising Agencies in the country. Beth Meixner, Founder of Moxxie Network, met with Donny Deutsch who invited the Jr. Moxxies to meet five members of his agency—all women. Each of these women shared their story of how they got their positions, what their job entails, and how they work with each other to produce a final product for the client.

On January 13, 2011, Jr. Moxxies and their Mentors visited WABC-TV Studios, where they met with Ms. Saundra Thomas, the VP of Community Affairs, and News Anchors, Diana Williams and Sade Baderinwa.

In November 2010, Jr. Moxxies made a field trip to LI MacArthur Airport to visit with Teresa Rizzuto, Commissioner of MacArthur Airport. Ms. Rizzuto is the first female commissioner at the airport, and she spoke to the young women about what it is like to run an airport, how she landed her position, and how she balances her personal life and manages stress.

As the founder, Beth Meixner continually finds ways to expand Moxxie Network—all based on the theme of ‘women helping women.’ “This is what the Jr. Moxxie Program is all about,” says Beth. “It includes built-in Mentoring and Internship Programs that are beneficial for young women and our members.” The Jr. Moxxie program advocates greatness, and Beth has made it her mission to spread knowledge and opportunity to young women across New York.

Moxxie Network is known for extending its open arms to women in need. For more information about Moxxie Network, Moxxie Programs, the exclusive events that connect business with pleasure and the requirements for attaining membership, visit www.moxxienetwork.com.
