AWAI’s New Professional Association for Copywriters

Copywriters, web writers, and all other writers whose job it is to sell with their words now have a professional association to call their own. The Professional Writers’ Alliance (PWA) allows professional writers to access ongoing training and job opportunities, as well as the ability to network with other writers in their field.

Delray Beach, FL, February 06, 2011 --(PR.com)-- American Writers & Artists Inc. (AWAI), www.awaionline.com today announced the Professional Writers’ Alliance (PWA), a new association for professional writers.

The main goal of any professional association is to help members advance in their career through support, education, and community. While one association will differ from the next, one main benefit seems to remain constant… titles carry clout and build credibility. Joining a professional association is one more way to brand yourself as a credible professional.

Even Gradschools.com gives this advice to their graduate students: “No matter what your chosen field of study … you want to remain in the mainstream of your desired field. There are numerous ways that this could be accomplished – networking … professional journals, etc. However, one great way to draw on those resources is to join a professional association.”

Katie Yeakle, Executive Director of AWAI, concurs: "Joining the Alliance is the best way to stay up-to-date on what's happening in the writing industry. It opens the door to the entire direct-response Industry and provides all the resources, knowledge, and news you need to stay connected and current as a professional direct-response writer. It’s long overdue, and I’m very excited about the day-to-day impact that it will have on the writing success of our members.”

As well as providing writers with the professional credibility of their own association, they will also enjoy access to huge benefits, such as:

• Experts in the profession who will share their experience and secrets to their success;
• Preferential front-of-the-line access to writing assignments;
• A Tutorial Library with tools and resources such as a swipe file full of excellent writing samples to study;
• A member forum, where they can ask questions of experts and peers and get real-time answers; and, as a direct by-product of the forum,
• Connection to the camaraderie, encouragement, and support of an active community of other writers.

Members are delighted with the news about the Alliance. As copywriter Cyndee Davis, from Houston, says, “I feel so privileged to get in on this membership at the ground level. There couldn't be a better time to become a professional freelance copywriter. There are so many services, and there is so much support!”

Janet Grosshandler from New Jersey agrees: “I am so impressed with the leadership of AWAI and Wealthy Web Writer for their brilliance in creating this Alliance. It will close a gap and move us to a higher, more professional level. Our field is gaining respect and AWAI has been the leader in the copywriters' training arena, moving us to the head of the class. Now with the creation of the PWA, we take a leap to the forefront of the industry. I am just thrilled to be a part of all this!”

The Professional Writers’ Alliance will continue to evolve and grow by responding to the requests of its members. Rebecca Matter, Co-Managing Partner of AWAI and Founder of Wealthy Web Writer (www.wealthywebwriter.com) invites members to, “Use the PWA Member's Forum to tell us what you need. AWAI is here to help you succeed in your copywriting careers, and that's why we've created this Professional Writers' Alliance community.”
