HospitalPortal.NET is a leading provider of secure healthcare-specific Intranet sites for electronic information sharing and information publishing. LRGHealthcare, consisting of Lakes Region General Hospital, Franklin Regional Hospital and wellness centers, has a full-time staff of 1,200 and 120 physicians.

Hutchinson said that the staff has been trained to develop pages for the portal and that a governance committee has been established to oversee that all pages are current.
“We’re getting great staff usage and acceptance, which has continued to increase as people become more familiar with the portal,” Hutchinson said.
Hutchinson praised the portal and support from HospitalPortal.Net, which he said exceeded expectations.
“We know we now have a system that is flexible enough to keep growing and improving,” he said. “And I want to emphasize that we expect to meet our return on investment within two years.
“That’s how cost-effective this system really is,” the chief information officer said.
