Local AM News-Talk Radio Show Hosts Parlay First Year Success into Featured Show Weeknights on Blog Talk Radio

Westport, CT, February 21, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Just a year ago, Betty-Lynn White and Garrison Leykam started producing and hosting their own brokered radio program Saturdays on AM news-talk radio in Fairfield County, Connecticut. With no prior broadcast experience, the duo learned the radio ropes and attacted an impressive roster of interview guests, including CNBC anchor Maria Bartiromo, New York Times columnist Joe Nocera, "Lotus Eaters" author Tatjana Soli, Emmy-nominated filmmaker/mountaineer Chris Warner, "UFO Hunters" TV series host WIlliam J. Birnes, Senior Astronomer at SETI Seth Shostak, history-making NASCAR twins Amber and Angela Cope, Lisa Kelly from Ice Road Truckers, "Blind Descent" author James M. Tabor, and many others. In addition, White and Leykam earned a berth on the internationally-advertised Pepsi Refresh Project.

"The signs came early," reflects Garrison, "that we had the makings of a very successful show and that we had outgrown the geographical confines and economic model of local broadcast radio. Blog Talk Radio presented the opportunity to go from an hour show on Saturdays to five days a week at prime-time with up to 3-hour slots per show. We couldn't resist growing an international audience with 'Conversation Crossroad.'"

Launched in 2006, Blog Talk Radio hosts and preserves millions of conversations and brings together like-minded individuals into diverse online communities. For leading brands such as PepsiCo, Wal-Mart and Ford Motor Company, Blog Talk Radio's proprietary technology and broad network of loyal listeners delivers a breakthrough solution for social media and conversational marketing.

In addition to broadening their listener reach, and attracting other notable interview guests to 'Conversation Crossroad,' White and Leykam see tremendous economic advantages for their sponsors. "In a challenging economy," notes Leykam, "businesses want their advertising and marketing dollars to generate the greatest return. We're putting together an exciting menu of advertising opportunities that will include a mix of 'live' and pre-recorded spots far below broadcast pricing as well as online advertising. Sponsors won't be locked into thirteen week broadcast advertising campaigns. They can do per show campaigns all the way up to title sponsorships."

Prior to the 'Conversation Crossroad' radio program, White and Leykam shared producer roles in television (the DINERS TV show on Connecticut Public Television and in music (The Garrison Project CD). White was an attorney for 30 years and is a published poet, freelance writer, lecturer and Adjunct Professor. Leykam was a producer for London Records, Inc. and has appeared as a performer at The Bluebird Cafe, Toad's Place, CBGB's, DownTime and other venues.
