Synagogue to Hold Masquerade Ball Fundraiser

Milwaukee, WI, February 24, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Congregation Beth Israel announced today that it will hold a Purim Masquerade Ball fundraiser on March 12, 2011.

The synagogue hopes the masquerade ball will attract a large attendance from among its membership and the broader community since the goal is to raise needed funds for the organization, particularly in the area of education.

"We have several fundraisers each year at Congregation Beth Israel and this one should prove to be the most rambunctious," said Anita Nagurka, executive director of the congregation. "It's a way for attendees to dress up, participate in the revelry, and support the synagogue at the same time."

There will be a DJ, hypnotist, silent auction, prize for the best costume, cash bar, and desserts. The scheduling of the masquerade ball coincides with the Jewish holiday of Purim, one of the most joyous holidays on the Jewish calendar commemorating a time when Jewish people living in Persia were saved from extermination. The holiday is celebrated, in part, by dressing up in costume.

The masquerade ball will be held on Saturday, March 12 at 7:30 pm at Congregation Beth Israel.

Tickets are on sale now and may be purchased through the synagogue's office or on the synagogue's Web site at cbimilwaukee_dot_org. Opportunities to support the event are available. The synagogue can be contacted at 414-352-7310.
