Dragonfly@Wyndham Retreat Donates Its Launch Week’s Proceeds to The Women’s Foundation’s Mentoring Program for Women Leaders

Dragonfly aims to support the betterment of women’s lives in collaboration with The Women’s Foundation.

Shanghai, China, February 25, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Dragonfly Therapeutic Retreats is proud to announce the proceeds from the launch week of the newly opened Dragonfly@Wyndham Retreat will be donated in their entirety to The Women’s Foundation for its Mentoring Program for Women Leaders. A sum of HK$31,534 was raised with Dragonfly’s first week’s opening on busy Wyndham Street in Central back in December, 2010.

The newly opened Wyndham Retreat was filled with customers eager to try Dragonfly’s signature head & shoulder, foot and body massages, as well as beauty services such as nail care, facial and waxing performed by skilled therapists.

"We are very pleased by the fantastic response to the opening of our second retreat in Hong Kong. While Dragonfly is gradually gaining ground in the well-being industry in Hong Kong, we want to contribute to the broader community and to support women’s causes in particular," said Georgie Yam, Founder and CEO of Dragonfly Therapeutic Retreats. "We look forward to continuing our collaboration with The Women’s Foundation for the betterment of women’s lives in Hong Kong, not only in economic terms but also vis a vis their spiritual growth and leadership skills."

The Mentoring Program for Women Leaders program 2010-2011 has created 50 pairs of mentors and protégés who will benefit from a year of mutual learning and shared insight and enhanced leadership skills through one-on-one meetings, mentoring circles, a speaker series featuring talks by prominent female leaders, presentation and networking skills workshops, social gatherings and community projects.

A cheque hand-over ceremony will take place during an International Women’s Day Gala Lunch organised by The Women’s Foundation on 7th March, 2011 at the Renaissance Harbour View Hotel, Wanchai. Dragonfly is proud to be a supporting partner of The Women’s Foundation’s citywide retail campaign around International Women’s Day which sees leading brands and outlets donating a portion of their proceeds to support women’s causes.

About The Women’s Foundation

Established in 2004, The Women's Foundation (registered charity number 91/6962) is a non-profit organisation dedicated to improving the lives of women and girls in Hong Kong through research, community programmes, and education and advocacy. Through our research, the Foundation has identified women's economic self-reliance as an urgent issue for Hong Kong. To this end, our three key focus areas are challenging gender stereotypes, increasing the number of women in decision-making and leadership positions, and empowering women in poverty to achieve a better quality of life for themselves and their families.
