Expert Latin Scholar and Educator Joins Pinnacle Educational Center

New Haven, CT, February 27, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Joyce Narden, educator, teacher and Latin scholar has joined Pinnacle Educational Center's tutoring practice. Pinnacle Educational Center, headquartered in Woodbridge, Connecticut, is a educational, career and life services firm.

Ms. Narden has worked in education over the past four decades, thirty-four of those years in the Amity Regional District #5. She recently retired on July 1, 2010.

At Pinnacle, Ms. Narden will be tutoring students in all levels of Latin, assisting them in Latin SAT II preparation, and helping them prepare for the AP tests in Latin.

During her tenure at Amity, she instructed students in Latin I through IV (Level One and Honors), wrote curricula for all Latin courses, designed a wide range of teaching materials, developed extensive assessment tools, and facilitated students in curricular and co-curricular activities.

Ms. Narden has received numerous achievements, awards and fellowships as an educator, including the Rockefeller Foundation Fellowship for Foreign Language, the Fulbright Summer Seminar Abroad: India, and awards from Classical Associations. She has authored over 20 articles on international and multicultural issues, conducted over 25 professional development sessions in instructional strategies, Mythology, Latin and the Classics. She is also a member of several esteemed organizations including the Fulbright Association, Classical Association of Connecticut, Classical Association of New England, and the American Classical League.

Ms. Narden received a B.A. in Classics from St. Joseph College, a M.A. in Comparative Literature from Catholic University and a Certificate of Advanced Study in Education from Fairfield University.
