Habitat for Humanity of Greater Waterbury Kicks Off 2011 with a Celebration of Its Past, Present and Future

Waterbury, CT, March 07, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Habitat for Humanity of Greater Waterbury recently celebrated its past, present and future efforts to end poverty housing with a ‘Volunteer Appreciation’ gathering at the home of volunteers, Wes and Laura Wensek, in Woodbury, CT. Seasoned Habitat volunteers and new faces discussed exciting plans for upcoming events and revitalized recruitment and fundraising strategies for 2011.

“Putting our faith into action is one of Habitat’s founding principles” notes Habitat’s President, Kate Clarke. Clarke is optimistic about the upcoming year and the growing team’s ability to make a difference in the community. “This event affords us the opportunity to thank our past leaders and welcome our many new faces.” She points out how Habitat’s past successes will serve as a strong foundation for future efforts toward eliminating poverty housing in Greater Waterbury.

Habitat for Humanity of Greater Waterbury is a nonprofit organization that works side by side with volunteers and partner families to build simple and decent homes. Through the work of Habitat affiliates, thousands of low-income families have found new hope in the form of affordable housing. Churches, community groups and others have joined together to successfully tackle the significant social problem of decent housing for all.
