Sustainable Agriculture Investment Opportunities Abound

The Agriculture 2.0 Investment Conference Returns to the Bay Area

San Francisco, CA, March 10, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Investors interested in catalyzing the greening of the agriculture industry often lament the availability of investment opportunities in the sector. For two days, April 11-12, 2011, hundreds of investors, entrepreneurs, and industry professionals will convene at the Hilton San Francisco Union Square for the fifth Agriculture 2.0TM sustainable agriculture investment conference for education, networking and potential deals.

At the conference, management teams will present proprietary investment opportunities to conference participants. Presenters have been carefully selected by a jury comprised of investors and advisors from the agriculture sector.

Investment opportunities range from identification solutions for livestock to water conservation technologies amd crop yield prediction software to biopesticides and fuel additives made from agricultural waste.

Company presenters will include: Vive Nano, GrowSafe Systems, Vestaron, Best Tech Brands, ClimateMinder, Hawaii Oceanic Technologies, Scarab Solutions, Biogas & Electric, Regenesis Management Group/SWIIM, Local Orbit, Earth Analytics Group and more.

“Investor interest in Agriculture is skyrocketing, especially now that the unrest in the Middle East is sending the price of oil and other agricultural inputs through the roof. Technologies that were not cost-competitive a year ago suddenly make a lot of sense in the face of $150/barrel oil prices,” said Janine Yorio, managing director of NewSeed Advisors. “Investors see the perfect storm: an enormous market, strong management teams, and environmentally-sensitive technologies that reduce petrochemical dependency.”

Marco Ferroni, President of the Syngenta Foundation for Sustainable Agriculture, is slated to deliver a keynote address about the potential for investment at all points in the supply chain.

Attendees will discuss prudent investment vehicles, including farmland, commodities and aquaculture, build a network of like-minded industry executives, and connect investors with ag-based funds and technology-based agriculture companies seeking growth capital.

Participants from the USDA, JR Simplot Company, Dow Chemical Company, Paine + Partners, Kleiner Perkins, US Venture Partners, Venrock, Mindful Investors, Physic Ventures, Khosla Ventures, John Deere, Tropicana, International Finance Corporation, Ceres Partners, Capital Innovations, The David and Lucile Packard Foundation, The Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago, American Capital, Passport Capital, TIAA-CREF, Chess Ag Full Harvest Partners, Adveq, and many more will be in attendance.

Agriculture 2.0 is co-hosted by NewSeed Advisors and IIR-USA, and is sponsored by Farm Credit, The Financial Times, O’Melveny & Myers, and Sidley Austin. Registration is available exclusively at www.ag20sf.com.
