Nutley, NJ, March 13, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Dogs can teach humans something about accountability, leading by example to show their reliability, caring and loyalty. That’s the premise of this intriguing book, which follows the author’s exploration of this subject with his own four dogs, touching on seven powerful areas of accountability that provide the key to a successful career and life.

The Dog Ate My Homework, published by Dog Ear Publishing, helps readers learn more about leveraging accountability to power maximum performance, forge deeper relationships for greater personal fulfillment and unlock the power of accountability to reach new career heights. Chapters on integrity, honesty, teamwork, conflict resolution and appreciation reveal the power of ownership for what someone is and what he wants to be doing. The author approaches this topic not from a position of blame but from one of getting the most out of life and spreading the joy into the lives of others. Once someone knows how to be accountable to himself and others, he can set goals, work through obstacles and inspire others.

Professional dog trainer Joe Dwyer is a former labor relations director and sales manager, and a man of faith and spirituality. He has four dogs: Shelby, a formerly abused pit bull mix who is a certified therapy dog; Spartacus, a beagle mix who looks his owner in the eye while being scolded; dachshund Greta, who watches over the family; and Rommel, a dachshund who knows when his owner needs affection after a stressful day. Dwyer is a motivational speaker/author and is an active animal rights activist. He has a third-degree black belt in karate. The author’s grandfather, known as “The Chief,” provided a shining example of integrity and accountability to his family, which can be seen in the text of the book.
