Mama Bracelets Offers Comfort in Bracelets and Video

Mama Bracelets delivers bracelets to grieving family and shares touching video on YouTube

Naperville, IL, March 19, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Losing a child, for whatever reason, is devastating. Finding comfort within that loss is the key to healing.

Mama Bracelets has reached out to a family that has lost their 4-month old daughter quite unexpectedly. Mr. & Mrs. Staats lost their child, Maddie, in February of 2011. Being an avid blogger, the mother has a substantial following on her family blog, long before her daughter passed away. Upon the death of young Maddie the blogging community, coupled with the Facebook community, rallied together and started an online auction to help support the Staats Family. The result yielded over $11,000 in fundraising.

Mama Bracelets offered a bracelet designed by its owner, Lindsay Casten, in response to being deeply touched by the Staats's story. Having three children of her own, Lindsay felt compassion and a tearing at her heart to help. Her creativity led her to design the "Maddie Angel" Bracelet that she lovingly donated to the auction.

Bidding began and within a few short hours the bracelet had gained tremendous attention. A participant, Karesse Volpe, had the inspired thought that since this bracelet seemed to have captured the hearts and eyes of many, it would be fitting if the winning bidder might consider donating it to the mother of Maddie as a memorial of her lost daughter. This idea was taken a step further by the auction participants agreeing (via Facebook posts) that this bracelet should be a donation item rather than an auction item. This meant that people would donate funds in the name of this bracelet and it would (along with the funds) be given to the Staats Family.

The bracelet brought in just over $1900.

Mama Bracelets felt a wave of interest from people across the country inquiring about buying the "Maddie Angel" bracelet for either themselves or a loved one who had lost a child. In response, MB created the "Support and Fundraising" page on their website (www.mamabracelets.com) and it currently features the "Maddie Angel" Bracelet. Purchasing this bracelet carries a 25% donation (of all the "Maddie Angel" Bracelet sales) by Mama Bracelets to the Staats family at the conclusion of March (when the bracelet will no longer be available).

Karesse Volpe contacted Mama Bracelets with the request to design similar bracelets for Maddie's father and two grandmothers (MiMi and Nana) at her own expense. Working closely with Mama Bracelets via e-mail, Facebook, and PayPal three more bracelets were designed. These were delivered to the Staats Family and have found their home in the hearts of those closest to Maddie.

Mama Bracelets produced a YouTube video featuring the four bracelets and excerpts of a note written to the family by Mama Bracelets. You can view the video at: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SG9XJf7XxJw

"Mama Bracelets has been honored and humbled to be able to reach out not only to the Staats Family, but to the many others who have suffered the loss of a young loved one. We thank all those who support the efforts of many that bring comfort to those who need it most," says a representative of Mama Bracelets.
