)-- In March 2011, the Gateway2Investment (G2i) scheme reached a further significant milestone. In terms of equity raised for London business finance, it has helped to raise £10,522,859 for twenty different London based companies. These companies cover a wide spectrum of business sectors across London. This follows on from the successful “Networking Your Way to Equity” event held at The British Library on March 9th as part of The London Funding Conference.
Richard Waterman, an associate at Quotec – part of the Gateway2Investment (G2i) team said, “There has been a noticeable upturn in the last few months of London based companies being able to raise equity finance. This is an encouraging trend in the financial community and the pace at which funding is being raised appears to be accelerating. The Gateway2Investment scheme enables small and medium sized businesses in London to get investment ready at very low cost and also enables these companies to source funding for their business. Companies coming through the scheme are extremely well placed to benefit from the upturn in the economy that we expect to continue over the rest of the year and beyond. The Gateway2Investment (G2i) were extremely pleased to announce this significant funding milestone and we expect further announcements in the very near future as the funding pipeline for Gateway2Investment (G2i) companies looks extremely healthy at present.”
Gateway2Investment (G2i) is an in-depth and interactive programme for small and medium sized businesses in London, designed to give business owners the inside track on how investors view their business and what they need to do to get over the elusive investment line.
