Women on the Verge Community Plans Laughter on Blog Talk Radio April 20, 2011

Online women’s community Women on the Verge (WOTV) presents its April hot topic, “Laughing Out Loud,” on Blog Talk Radio, Wednesday April 20 at noon EST.

Tucson, AZ, April 05, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Online women’s community Women on the Verge (WOTV) will present its April hot topic, “Laughing Out Loud,” on Blog Talk Radio, Wednesday April 20 at noon EST. This month-long topic launched on April 1 in keeping with the Western tradition of April Fools Day silliness. WOTV founder Ana Lewis and member/panelists Dr. Karen Monroy, Rebecca Rasmussen, Dawn Rivers Baker, Jessica Pieklo and Robbie Kaye invite callers to share funny stories on the WOTV radio show. Stories can be fiction, non-fiction or even really bad poetry; side-splitting laughter is encouraged.

About.com shares an article by Elizabeth Scott, M.S., entitled “The Stress Management and Health Benefits of Laughter.” Scott discusses the known benefits of laughter, including the reduction of stress hormones and an increase in endorphins. Laughter provides a social connection like no other activity - it also increases the immune system, provides a physical and emotional release and even readjusts perspective during a stressful situation. Laughter yoga classes are popping up all over the country - no doubt an effort to spread the good news about laughter.

Ana Lewis invites Women on the Verge members to continue the laughter by sharing their “Laughing Out Loud” stories all this month on the WOTV blog. She suggests that “by connecting on the WOTV website and radio show, women can support each other in a way that leads to better health in mind, body and spirit.” Ralph Waldo Emerson said “Earth laughs in flowers.” - according to Ana Lewis, this is all the more reason why April is the perfect month to promote laughter within the WOTV community.

A recent addition to the blogs, videos, personal connections, and discussions on the Women on the Verge site is their bookstore, featuring books written by WOTV members.

Women on the Verge is a fresh, growing, free, global, online community of women (and a few men) encouraging and supporting each other to speak and let their voices be heard.
