Expo Will Help Unemployed, Under-Employed, and Aspiring Entrepreneurs

The Expo, showcasing home-based businesses, training resources and local employers, geared to moms returning to work, single Dads & Moms, those recently divorced, and anyone researching part-time opportunities.

Raleigh, NC, April 06, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Smart Moms® and Miller-Motte College are once again presenting the Exploring Opportunities Expo on Saturday, April 16th at Miller-Motte’s Walnut Street campus in Cary. The Free event begins at 9:30 a.m. and runs until 1:30 p.m.

Local companies already onboard for the event include; Time Warner Cable, Lowes Home Improvement, SunTrust, and Veritude. In addition, 13 home-based businesses plan to exhibit. Training resources like GCF, Wake Technical Community College, Women’s Business Center and Child Care Service Association are also among the exhibitors.

The Expo, showcasing home-based businesses, training resources and local employers is expected to be bigger and better than previous expos. It is geared to moms returning to work, single Dads & Moms, those recently divorced, and anyone researching part-time opportunities.

To make this event even more productive for attendees, Keynote Speaker, Lisa Thomas, who focuses on life strategies for women through her Charlotte, NC based company, Power, Passion and Purpose Group, will present techniques that empower the audience to follow their passion and purpose as they seek employment, education and business opportunities.

This Exploring Opportunities Expo has evolved from a series of successful expos Smart Moms® has presented throughout 2010. Past expos featured mainly business opportunities. The addition of training providers and local employers broadens options for the Triangle’s job seekers.

“Smart Moms has always encouraged job seekers to improve or acquire new skills to increase their marketability. We’ve helped more than 200 local employers find candidates and we also believe strongly in entrepreneurship. Therefore, it makes sense to include all three options under one banner,” says Garla Smith, Smart Moms® CEO.

The Exploring Opportunities Expo is free and takes place on Saturday, April 16th from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Miller-Motte College, 2205 Walnut Street, Cary, NC 27518. Online advanced registration is appreciated, but not required.
