Calligraphy for Derby Events Can be Fun and Funky, According to Jan Hurst Calligraphy & Design

Jan Hurst Calligraphy & Design announces new fun and funky lettering styles available for Derby events, but time is running out.

Louisville, KY, April 06, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Wedding calligrapher Jan Hurst in the Louisville, KY area announces the availability of new, less formal lettering styles available for Derby events. "Derby parties are very popular in the Louisville area for Derby Day," says artist and calligrapher Jan Hurst. "While brides typically request more formal styles of lettering for their wedding invitations and envelopes, party planners can go fun and funky."

Hurst took her first calligraphy classes when her youngest son was only two years old. She now has a one-year-old grandson. After the initial classes she continued learning, becoming very involved in local and regional calligraphic societies and taking classes from many world renowned calligraphers. Continued learning is a hallmark of her calligraphic enterprises. In March, she traveled to both Indianapolis and Memphis for five days of intensive training in the related techniques of decorated papers and handmade books.

"Weddings have become a specialty of mine, but I also like the fun aspect of party and event calligraphy," Hurst says. Planning a Derby party? Get very fast and excellent service by contacting her soon. Her wedding blog is www.weddingletterlady.blogspot.com.
