Washington, DC, April 08, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Janet McCredie, Founder and Head Coach of the Relationship Resolution Centre, Inc. in Ottawa, Canada shared relationship and divorce mediation tools and techniques story with Donna Marie Thompson, PhD on the Bouncing Back Now Show on the Real Coaching Radio TV Network.

McCredie is a Divorce Mediator who speaks on positive relationships. She uses what she has learned about bad relationships to develop programs about developing healthy relationships. On the show, McCredie showcased the “Couples Tune-up.” According to McCredie: "It helps people to understand exactly which parts of their relationship need work. From there, the next step is to acquire the skills to get things back on track."

The A's
McCredie highlighted the “A's” that are absolutely necessary for all relationships. "Life is good when you have them all; not so much when you don’t. Three core elements are: Affection, Appreciation, and Attention. Without these, the relationship stalls. With them, comes smoother sailing. Paying attention to these elements can change the course of a relationship that is on the brink. Instead of breaking up, you could be making up."

McCredie discussed the essential concept of core values which form the foundation of any successful relationship. She described what happens when there are incompatible core values; usually trust, honesty, respect, and fidelity are involved. "Many values can co-exist but these form the basis of many irreconcilable differences and can lead to divorce. Some values are essentially incompatible and the couple will continue to struggle with them over the course of their relationship."

McCredie explained that: "even 2nd and 3rd marriages are often no more successful than the first if the unresolved issues remain. In fact, the higher the number of the marriage, the greater the likelihood that it will fail as well. You take yourself along wherever you go."

McCredie clarified that: "solid relationships combine both love and friendship. This can make or break a relationship because over the long term you spend a great deal of time together. You need to really like each other in addition to loving each other to make it work. After the initial romance, life goes on and there is a lot of stuff to deal with on a daily and weekly basis. You need a partner that will see it through good times and bad. You need a compassionate, caring, and empathetic partner - a true friend."

McCredie reinforced that: "relationships and marriages that are formed around common interests and activities have a greater chance of survival than those in which the couple shares few interests. It is important for both people to have fun in the relationship – and even better if they have fun together."

Dr. Thompson added that: "relationships and marriages need to be nurtured. Each person’s needs are important if the couple is to have to chance at a healthy relationship."
