Florida Minister Works to Promote Workplace Harmony

Esperanza Interfaith Center's Workplace Harmony program energizes professionals to maintain balance between work and life.

Tampa, FL, April 14, 2011 --(PR.com)-- The need for work-life balance in the professional workforce is an issue that Reverend Maria Pierre has made her life’s focus. As a corporate chaplain and interfaith minister for Esperanza Interfaith Center and Seminary, Rev. Pierre has designed a specific program titled “Workplace Harmony,” to create awareness around the importance of balancing work and personal life.

Retreats and workshops are components of Rev. Pierre’s Workplace Harmony program. She hosts monthly mini-retreats at Esperanza Interfaith Center. Open to the public, each retreat features a guest presenter offering unique advice. “Soul of the Leader” mini-retreats, focusing on peaceful leadership, are slated for April 22 and May 20, 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., at Esperanza Interfaith Center. Guests will enjoy music, sharing, and meditation at a beautiful lakefront setting. Register at www.esperanzainterfaithcenter.com.

“One must remain mindful that people deserve joy along with work and security in their lives,” said Rev. Pierre, whose business background has helped her focus her ministry not only on helping individuals, but also on helping companies bring harmony to the workplace.

The Workplace Harmony program is designed around helping workers create balance in their lives through a focus on the following areas: physical, emotional, mental, spiritual, finances, romance, career, and community. Rev. Pierre uses a colorful, spinning pinwheel of life, with each spoke labeled with a focus area, to illustrate how the areas work cohesively to keep the pinwheel in motion.

Rev. Pierre is often invited to visit corporations and assess matters. She then helps them set goals, offers solutions based on universal spiritual truths that will re-energize staff, solve problems, and energize leaders to promote balance.

“Companies are realizing that work and home issues impact an employee’s performance, which is why I’ve decided to expand my ministry to offer specific programs that can prevent career burnout,” said Rev. Pierre.

Since earning her bachelor's degree in sociology on a full academic scholarship to Harvard University, Rev. Pierre has led a purpose-driven career to help others find happiness. In addition to her work at Esperanza Interfaith Center and Seminary, she also holds an executive position in The Pascall Company, LLC, where she offers professional career coaching and oversees the work-life synergy programs.
