Habitat for Humanity of Greater Waterbury Executive Committee Holds Strategic Planning Session in Vermont

Waterbury, CT, April 14, 2011 --(PR.com)-- The executive committee of Habitat for Humanity of Greater Waterbury recently attended a strategic planning session where they discussed their vision and plans for the affiliate over the next five years. Five volunteers, Betsy Jette, Treasurer; Kate Clarke, President; Dave Rohlfing, Secretary; Ken Barbalato, Development Chair; and Wes Wensek, Vice President convened at a residence near Stratton Mountain, Vermont the weekend of March 26, 2011.

Wes Wensek, Vice President of the affiliate, expresses his optimism looking forward. "Over the last couple of years we've talked about the need to plan and organize ourselves for a leap forward. I'm so excited that we are on our way with this first ever strategic planning session."

Short and long-term planning is underway and will result in a comprehensive roadmap for the organization which will be shared with the affiliate’s members and the communities in its service area including Beacon Falls, Middlebury, Naugatuck, Oakville, Oxford, Prospect, Southbury, Waterbury, Watertown, Wolcott and Woodbury.

Habitat for Humanity of Greater Waterbury is a nonprofit organization that works side by side with volunteers and partner families to build simple and decent homes. Through the work of Habitat affiliates, thousands of low-income families have found new hope in the form of affordable housing.
