One Step Away from the Sub Zero Ice Cream Flavors of the Year

Provo, UT, April 20, 2011 --(PR.com)-- The top ten finalists to the Sub Zero Ice Cream creative concoction contest have been selected and will compete on Saturday, April 30 at 12 p.m. during a taste test event open to the public at the Provo Towne Mall inside the food court.

The finalists and their frozen inventions are Christina Carlston (Green Envy), Christy Newman-Wilcox (Strawberry Blast), Grace Harrington (Coffee Toffee), Kyle Heaton (Peach Cobbler Delight), Lucy Hardy (S’mores), Marcy Chidester (Orange Fudge Delight), Nate Kuhlman (Cookie Tree), Rosalyn Caywood (Berries O’Chocolate), Stephanie Webb Jacobsen (Carnival Fun/Circus Circus) and Yolda Gonzalez Morris (Banana Cream Pie).

The contestants will be decked out in Sub Zero gear and will partner with a Sub Zero Ice Cream employee to flash freeze their flavors with a blast of liquid nitrogen. Then each contestant will serve his or her signature flavor up to the public for two hours while the public vote for his or her favorites via text or "liking" the contestant's flavor on Facebook.

Three winners will be chosen based on the most votes received. The grand prize winner will receive one year of free ice cream, second place will receive a $50 gift card and third place will receive a $30 gift card to Sub Zero. All three winners will also have their flavors featured on Sub Zero Ice Cream’s nationwide menu for one year as the flavors of the year.

In addition to taste testing, patrons will be also be able to have their photos taken with a frozen, steaming Sub Zero baseball hat for a chance to win a free catering event. The event will be hosted from 12 - 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 30th in the food court inside the Prove Towne Center Mall, with a pre-contest meeting beginning at 11 a.m.
