Equine Plans at Derby College's Broomfield Hall

Derby College is planning a new equine facility at Broomfield Hall.

Derby, United Kingdom, April 22, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Derby College has applied to Erewash Borough Council for planning permission to build a new indoor facility at its Equine Centre at Broomfield Hall.

The proposed structure will be 60m by 30m and include a large indoor riding area. It is part of the on-going development plan at Broomfield Hall to improve and expand facilities for the increasing number of students applying for the land-based and public services courses that are based there.

If approved, construction is scheduled to start this summer with completion by late October.

Eileen Swan, Head of Land-Based and Leisure at Derby College, said: “The indoor facilities will enable the students to practice and then compete in a lot more competitions both at Broomfield Hall and externally.

“It will also enable us to expand the practical hands-on experience for our students with special sessions and clinics by professional riders and experts in their field such as vets, physiotherapists and saddlers without being at the mercy of the weather.”

Derby College has a wide range of full, part time and short equine courses based at the dedicated centre at Broomfield Hall. For more information, Tel: 0800 028 0289 or visit www.derby-college.ac.uk
