MD-IT EMR Receives Certification for Medicare Meaningful Use

Boulder, CO, April 24, 2011 --(PR.com)-- MD-IT, a leading provider of medical documentation software and service to ambulatory clinics and physician offices, announced today that the MD-IT EMR has received ONC-ATCB Modular Certification, enabling eligible providers to meet the Stage 1 Meaningful Use requirements required to qualify for funding under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA). SLI Global Solutions, an Authorized Testing and Certification Body (ATCB), conducted the testing and certification for MD-IT.

“This certification is especially gratifying because the MD-IT EMR is unlike any other product in the industry. We have the only EMR in the marketplace that is driven by narrative notes, which preserves physician productivity in most ambulatory settings,” said Tom Carson, President and CEO of MD-IT. “While we accommodate a wide range of input methods, it is the perfect EMR for physicians who are reluctant to use conventional EMRs that require them to become data entry clerks.”

Studies have shown that the expected loss in productivity after the transition to an EMR system is a significant barrier to implementing an electronic medical records solution.

“Our solution is perfect for integrated delivery systems that are charged with getting all of their physicians up on EMRs,” said Robin Daigh, Vice President of marketing at MD-IT and a former hospital executive. “Invariably, some percentage of the medical staff refuses to use a traditional EMR due to productivity declines and the degradation of clinical note quality. With our EMR optimization services, healthcare systems can get such physicians using a certified EMR, and we can easily interface the MD-IT EMR to their more complex inpatient EMR system.”
