Novus Biologicals Announces New Nkx6.1 Antibody Made Using SDIX's Genomic Antibody Technology™

Littleton, CO, April 28, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Novus Biologicals announced today a new Nkx6.1 antibody (catalog number NBP1-49672) for the study of Pancreatic Stem Cell Markers or Signal Transduction. This Nkx6.1 antibody was made using SDIX's Genomic Antibody TechnologyTM (GATTM).

Homeobox protein Nkx-6.1 is a bifunctional transcription factor responsible for transcriptional regulation in pancreatic islet beta cells. Specifically, Nkx6.1 binds to specific A/T-rich DNA sequences in the promoter regions of many target genes. Nkx6.1 has also been reported to be involved in insulin regulation in the pancreas. Additionally, Nkx6.1 is considered a class II neuronal progenitor factor protein, which restricts the growth of motor neurons to the appropriate region of the neural tube.

The Nkx6.1 antibody (NBP1-49672) may be used to immunostain paraffin embedded human and mouse pancreas tissue sections, and is also available in a sample size for initial characterization in your individual experiment.

GAT uses sophisticated bioinformatics and immunization strategies to produce high-quality antibodies that specifically bind to that region of the protein in its naturally folded form. The ability of any antibody to recognize a protein’s naturally folded state has the potential to expand an antibody’s utility to high-value applications like sandwich immunoassay, ChIP, and flow cytometry. Learn more about GAT by reading the GAT FAQ or by downloading the GAT White Paper.
