Call2Recycle Supports Kids Help Phone with Charitable Donation

North America’s most comprehensive battery and cell phone recycling program helps make counselling service available to children and young adults.

Toronto, Canada, April 30, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Call2Recycle®, the only free battery and cell phone collection program in North America, has continued its support of Kids Help Phone, a free, anonymous, confidential counselling, referral and information service for children and young adults, with a donation of $13,272. The cheque was presented today to Sharon Wood, President & CEO of Kids Help Phone by Joe Zenobio, executive director of Call2Recycle Canada.

“We are thrilled to re-affirm our dedication to Kids Help Phone through this donation, which improves the lives of millions of children and young adults through its programs,” said Zenobio. “As we work to improve the future environment, Kids Help Phone is ensuring a better future for the next generation.”

As part of its ongoing partnership with Kids Help Phone, Call2Recycle designates a portion of its proceeds from the collection and sale of refurbished cell phones. Since 2007, Call2Recycle has provided donations to the non-profit organization, which offers immediate and anonymous professional counselling to more than 4,300 children and young adults every week.

“The donation from Call2Recycle shows how working toward a better environment can be leveraged to provide a better life for the next,” said Wood. “With their commitment to our organization, we will be able to continue providing free support for the children in our community who need help with a wide variety of issues from bullying and school conflicts to emotional and physical health concerns.”

Call2Recycle is a free and convenient way to recycle old cell phones and used batteries found in cordless electronic products, such as laptop computers, digital cameras, cordless power tools, PDAs, mp3 players, camcorders and two-way radios.
