James L. Conner II, partner at Ragsdale Liggett law firm, will be a featured speaker and panelist at an annual meeting of the North Carolina Bar Association’s Environment, Energy and Natural Resources Law Section. The two day continuing legal education program held in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina May 6-7 awards 6.75 CLE credit hours. The program is designed to instruct lawyers and environmental professionals on the trends in environmental and natural resource law for the next decade. Speaking on the topic of “Environmental Litigation Essentials,” Mr. Conner, a former Administrative Law Judge, will present his view of these issues from the bench perspective.

Jim Conner is one of North Carolina’s most experienced environmental lawyers. Early in his law career, he filed one of the seminal and most frequently cited environmental law cases in North Carolina, Wilson v. McLeod. Jim has represented every kind of client, from Fortune 50 companies to small businesses, individuals, environmental groups and state and local governments.

About James L. Conner II:

Jim has been a certified mediator since 1994 and is also a certified arbitrator. He has been inducted into both the North Carolina Academy of Superior Court Mediators and the National Academy of Distinguished Neutrals.

Judge Conner received his Juris Doctor with honors from the University of North Carolina at School of Law after earning a bachelor’s degree cum laude in botany from Duke University. A member of the NC Bar Association, Jim is serving his third term as a council member for the Environmental and Natural Resources Law Section of the NC Bar Association. Jim is a frequent speaker at NC Bar Association CLEs and other professional events.
