)-- Learn how to cook Turkish Meze.
Turkey specialist Exclusive Escapes offers vegetarian cookery breaks where guests learn how to create traditional Turkish vegetarian dishes alongside Semra Aydeniz, one of Turkey’s leading vegetarian chefs.
Home-taught chef Semra will impart her love of slow food during a week-long discovery of vegetarian cuisine. Guests will learn ancient Turkish recipes, enjoy visits to local villages and producers, enjoy a trip to Fethiye food market and a relaxing day onboard a traditional Turkish gulet.
Guests spend around 2 hours each morning and evening with their sleeves rolled up, preparing traditional, hand-made dishes alongside Semra. The highlight of each day is a six-course evening banquet prepared by the guests - consisting of vegetarian mezes with plenty of olives and local cheeses, and home baked bread cooked on a wood fire - eaten under a canopy of stars.
There is plenty of time between cooking to relax by the pool, and enjoy the remote setting high in the mountains with stunning views of the Mediterranean coastline. The six-bedroom Yediburunlar is located on one of the most dramatic sections of the Lycian Way – the nearest village is a 20 minute walk - with stunning views across mountain peaks, down to the sea. For guests who wish, Leon will escort trekking expeditions with an opportunity to explore local villages, ancient sites and an abundance of wildlife.
