New York, NY, September 27, 2005 --(PR.com)-- Clothing designer Jamie Kreitman (www.jamiekreitman.com) is donating $250,000.00 worth of inventory, including: shoes, sweaters and jackets to Hurricane victims in Mississippi, where over 70% of the state was badly affected by the storms. The merchandise will be picked up in New Jersey today, Tuesday, September 27, 2005 and delivered to the Mississippi Hurricane Recovery Center down in Jackson, Mississippi. The donated goods will then be distributed to various shelters in the area, who are seeking clothing and shoes for victims of the hurricanes. Jamie Kreitman’s donated goods will be delivered on a truck free of charge by the trucking school at Northampton Community College in Tobyhanna, Pennsylvania. This community college has raised funds to subsidize this effort, and the trucking school faculty and students have volunteered their time and skills.

For her part, Jamie has decided to make such a substantial donation “not only to clothe victims of this natural disaster, but also to send Jamie Kreitman designed products for a psychological lift. Beautiful items in happy colors will make the women, girls and even men smile! And shoes that sparkle are any girl's dream. Around the Jewish New Year, we take stock of our lives and feel it is apropos to share some of the joy our products with those less fortunate.”

According to Americor and Mississippi Hurricane Recovery Center’s Elijah Washburn “The matching center at the Mississippi Hurricane Recovery Center is fielding phone calls from shelters all over the affected areas and is allocating all their donated goods, such as Jamie Kreitman’s clothing and shoes. Jamie Kreitman’s clothing and shoes, along with food and many other resources will be available to all shelters who call the Recovery Center with requests for people staying at the shelter. All donations going to Mississippi, must pass through the Mississippi Hurricane Recovery Center’s warehouse in Jackson, MS and are sanctioned by FEMA (Federal Emergency Management Agency) and the Department of Homeland Security.”
