AcousticSheep LLC Awarded Trademark for SleepPhones®, Comfortable Headband/Headphones Designed for Sleeping

SleepPhones and related products help users fall asleep to music or sounds of their choice.

Bellefonte, PA, May 12, 2011 --(PR.com)-- AcousticSheep LLC today announced its trademark for SleepPhones® from the U.S. Trademark and Patent Office. A product that combines a soft, comfortable fleece headband with extra-thin speakers sewed inside, SleepPhones® helps users fall asleep to music or soothing sounds of their choice.

The trademark covers not only SleepPhones®, but also music, CDs, downloadable mp3s featuring binaural beats, and downloadable musical sound recordings. “We offer on our Web site mp3s and CDs of music and recorded sounds designed to help people enhance their SleepPhones® experience and get more sleep,” said Dr. Wei-Shin Lai, MD, inventor of SleepPhones® and co-founder and CEO of AcousticSheep, LLC. “The mp3s on our site include binaural beats, which help induce relaxation and drowsiness.”

Dr. Lai invented SleepPhones® with her husband, Jason Wolfe, who is also co-founder and chief technology officer of AcousticSheep LLC. She needed to listen to something soothing to help her sleep after returning to bed after medical calls, but didn’t want to disturb her husband. Earbuds and regular headphones were uncomfortable, so they created the prototype for SleepPhones.
