Otonomy Aviation's High Definition Cameras System Welcomes First Customer

Otonomy Aviation announces the first customer of its unique High Definition cameras system for the VIP and business jets. The Video ouput format is distributed simultaneously in HD-SDI, HD Ethernet but also in NTSC in order to address all IFE suppliers.

Bordeaux, France, May 13, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Otonomy Aviation, a specialist in embedded electronics for the aerospace industry, will launch its CAMHD® 1080 range of High Definition digital cameras, at the EBACE trade show in Geneva, which will take place from 17 to 19 May 2011.

CAMHD® range of 1080 HD cameras, is a fully DO 160 qualified system which offers entertainment services for business and VIP jets.

CAMHD® provides simultaneously, up to eight HD-SDI 1080, NTSC and Ethernet H264 to any in-flight cabin entertainment system or cockpit display. At the same time video can be pushed to a wifi connected tablet (iPad) thanks to a dedicated wireless link.

The CAMHD® system is based upon four components:
- VCCU-E unit, in order to monitor and duplicate video for the IFE connected system
- CAMHD-1 unit, tail or belly mount high definition camera
- CAMHD-4 unit, 4 camera POD to provide a comprehensive 360) view around the aircraft
- CAMHD-Z unit, zoom camera which can go up to x120

Directly powered by the aircraft 28 VDC source and connected to IFE, each camera can be used as stand-alone unit in order to simplify installation and reduce embedded weight.
