More Than 150 Bedfordshire Registered for Stefan Drew Mssociates Marketing Workshop

Bedford, United Kingdom, May 19, 2011 --(PR.com)-- More than 150 Bedfordshire businesses have booked a place at an Online Business Marketing seminar being run on Wednesday (May 18th) by Bedford College, the British Computer Society and the man the BBC call The Marketing Magician. The event, which has attracted every sort of business from architects to vets, will demonstrate how online marketing is being used to beat the recession and is easily accessible to any local business.

The Online Business Marketing for the Non Technical event is a free event for Bedfordshire businesses and has attracted micro-businesses and multi nationals alike. Business people representing the worlds of archaeology, architecture, aero industries and brewing …… in fact businesses representing most letters of the business alphabet have booked places. The public services are also well represented with staff from local councils, the police, and universities to name but a few.

The speaker at the event is Stefan Drew, aka The Marketing Magician, who started his first business in Bedfordshire. Since those early days his marketing consultancy now has clients as far away as Australia and he is a regular contributor to the media in over 100 countries.

Stefan Drew commented, "10-20 years ago most marketing was offline and consisted of adverts, brochures, leaflets and direct mail. Today 600 million people have signed up on Facebook and 50% of them visit the site every day; there are 5 billion mobile phones in the world, which means billions of people have a 'computer in their pocket' and most people regularly Google for information on products and services.

"Being on Page One of Google is an essential and yet, with this much competition, is very challenging for most businesses. In this event we are going to demonstrate how Bedfordshire businesses can compete in this global online market and win.

"Amazingly most of what I’m going to demonstrate is effectively free, so as the economy slowly comes out of recession, cost isn’t a factor. It is more about knowing what to do and getting on with it. My challenge to local businesses is to do just one or two things online each week to grow their businesses."

The Online Business Marketing for the Non Technical event is taking place on May 18th at 6.30 – 8 pm in the Studio Theatre at Bedford College. Places can be booked on the Bedford College website at www.Bedford.ac.uk or by phoning 0300 011 2344.
