David Maus Chevrolet Hosts Child Safety Seat Day

Orlando, FL, May 22, 2011 --(PR.com)-- David Maus Chevrolet will host the Seminole County Safe Kids Coalition on Thursday May 26th from 10a – 2pm, assisting drivers on properly installing child seats and distributing information on how to prevent injuries and save the lives of children in vehicles. The event will be held at the store location at 972 Town Center Blvd, Sanford.

With the number of drivers on the road today, it is imperative for parents to know that child safety seats and safety belts, when installed and used properly can save lives. It is estimated that 975 child occupants under 14 years of age die as a result of a motor vehicle incident.

According to the Seminole County Department of Public Safety, young children properly restrained in child safety seats have an 80 percent lower risk of fatal injury than those who are unrestrained. For this reason, David Maus Chevrolet will be hosting professionally trained and nationally certified Child Passenger Safety Technicians to inspect child restraints. Anyone can bring in their child restraint and vehicle owners manual and they will make certain to get the Memorial Day Weekend off to a great start.
