Northern Virginia Tutoring Service Supports Their Local Public Schools and Arts-Education Non-Profits

Falls Church, VA, May 27, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Northern Virginia Tutoring Service (NVTS) proudly supports their local public schools and a range of local non-profit arts-education organizations. Among these organizations is Patrick Henry Elementary School in Arlington, Virginia. NVTS is a strategic corporate partner with Patrick Henry, and recently sponsored the Annual Henry Challenge Fun Run, a non-competitive family fun run intended to bring the community together, increase health awareness and the fitness levels of those involved.

In addition to support of the Arlington Public Schools as a Partner in Education, NVTS supports the Fairfax County Public Schools MentorWorks program and is a corporate participant in the Falls Church City Public Schools Business in Education Partnership. NVTS is a corporate sponsor of the Falls Church, Virginia Education Foundation (FCEF). NVTS recently provided two Silent Auction items in support of the Annual Education Foundation Gala. The FCEF is engaged in a campaign to build a $10 million permanent Endowment Fund to help ensure students are prepared to meet the challenges of the 21st century.

NVTS supports arts-education programming at local theatre companies, embracing the idea that the use of kinetic, physical, vocal, and ensemble techniques that teachers use in a performing arts classroom can be employed in the core classroom with effective results. Dr. Ralph G. Perrino, Founder and Director of NVTS, serves on the Board of Directors of Faction of Fools Theatre Company of Washington, D.C. NVTS is also a corporate sponsor of the many activities and productions of Faction of Fools including in-school workshops, artist residencies and affordable performances. NVTS also is a corporate sponsor of Creative Cauldron Theatre Company of Falls Church, Virginia. Creative Cauldron offers learning opportunities in the performing and visual arts for children and adults.
