Top Safety Accreditation for Wise Property Care

Wise Property Care recently received accreditation from SAFEcontractor scheme for health and safety.

Scotland, United Kingdom, June 09, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Wise Property Care is one of the latest groups of successful companies to join a leading edge scheme, designed to help industry improve its safety record.

The Scottish based firm recently received accreditation from SAFEcontractor, a programme which recognises very high standards of health and safety practise amongst UK contractors.

Employing 95 people, Wise Property Care is principally involved in the preservation industry specialising in damp, woodworm, rot, structural and Japanese knotweed control.

The company’s application for SAFEcontractor accreditation was driven by the need for a uniform standard across the business.

Les Meikle, Managing Director of Wise Property Care stated: “The care and protection of our teams on site is very important to us. With the recent surge in rogue traders bringing a bad name to the construction and preservation industry, any scheme that strives to help protect contractors and homeowners and demonstrate good practise in the industry is certainly a scheme we want to help and support.”

SAFEcontractor accreditation is expected to enhance the company’s ability to attract new contracts and its commitment to safety will be viewed positively by its insurers when the company liability policy is up for renewal.

John Kinge, Head of Risk at SAFEcontractor said, "Major organisations can no longer run the risk of employing contractors who are not able to prove that they have sound health and safety policies."

"More companies need to understand the importance of adopting good risk management in the way that Wise Property Care has done. The firm’s high standard has set an example, which hopefully will be followed by other companies within the sector."
