Casey Cares Foundation Announces Addition of Grammy Nominated Band, Milkshake, to Play at 2nd Annual Green 5K, Family Fun Walk and Jammie Jog

The Casey Cares Foundation will welcome the Grammy nominated children’s band, Milkshake, at the second annual Casey Cares Green 5K Run/Walk on Sunday, November 13th, 2011. The 3.1 mile run/walk course will begin at Pulse Health and Fitness Club in Sparks, MD and will also include a Family Fun Walk, and Kids Jammie Jog. The Casey Cares Foundation is a 501 c 3 charity that provides uplifting programs with a special touch to critically ill children and their families.

Baltimore, MD, June 15, 2011 --(PR.com)-- The Casey Cares Foundation is pleased to announce that the Grammy nominated children’s band, Milkshake, will entertain the crowd at the second annual Casey Cares Green 5K Run/Walk on Sunday, November 13th, 2011. The 3.1 mile run/walk course will begin at Pulse Health and Fitness Club on York Road in Sparks, MD and will also include a Family Fun Walk, Kids Jammie Jog and other entertainment. The Casey Cares Foundation is a 501 c 3 charity that provides uplifting programs with a special touch to critically ill children and their families throughout Maryland and the Mid-Atlantic region.

"Milkshake is excited to be part of Casey Cares' 2nd Annual Green 5K Family Fun Run and Jammie Jog,” said Lisa Mathews, lead singer of Milkshake. “Casey Cares is a wonderful organization helping kids make it through some tough times because of ill health and Milkshake gives them a big thumbs up!"

Registration information for this eco-friendly event will be available through the website and event results will be posted online. Runners will receive t shirts made from 100% post-consumer recycled content or organic cotton. Bins will be set up for recycling plastic bottles, paper, glass and for composting water cups and food waste. All signage will be biodegradable and/or made of post-consumer content recycled materials, All leftover food will be donated to the Hereford Food Bank. All winners of their category of race will receive an award made from 100% post-consumer content recycled material. The 5K website will be providing information to runners on how they can green their training. WPOC-FM is the event’s radio sponsor.
