TexTango Partners with Airline Ambassadors International to Help Combat Human Trafficking
For every text sent on behalf of AAI this month, TexTango will make a donation and include a free banner ad to raise awareness.
San Diego, CA, July 09, 2011 --(PR.com)-- TexTango, a free mobile application for text messaging, today announced its support for Airline Ambassadors International (AAI), a non-profit that is leading the effort to raise awareness about human trafficking in the airline industry. For every text sent in the month of July on behalf of AAI, TexTango will donate a half-cent to the organization. It will also include a free AAI banner image on each text to help generate awareness.
Airline Ambassadors International (AAI) is affiliated with the United Nations and recognized by the U. S. Congress. Members advocate for child protection by escorting children in need, providing humanitarian aid to orphans, and victims of human trafficking and training to airlines and the traveling public.
“Each year, 100,000 – 300,000 domestic minors are forced into lives of sexual slavery in the U.S.,” said Nancy Rivard, of Airline Ambassadors International. “Money donated during the month of July will assist us in our mission to protect children and combat human trafficking, one of the most important human rights issues of our time.”
It is estimated that 800,000 victims are transported across international borders every year, and many of these victims are trafficked on commercial aircraft. Until now, airlines have provided little or no education for airline professionals on this issue. Airline Ambassadors’ is leading the effort to educate the industry as a front line of defense against human slavery.
