Dr. Karen Sherman Was a Guest on "Dresser After Dark"

Dr. Karen Sherman and host, Michael Dresser discussed what it means to live mindfully and what it looks like when people don't do so.

Plainview, NY, July 09, 2011 --(PR.com)-- On July 6, Dr. Karen Sherman was a guest on the BBC radio show, "Dresser After Dark," with Host, Michael Dresser. The topic of their discussion was about what it means to live in a mindful way.

The conversation was quite lively and also discussed why people end up repeating patterns that are ineffective. An example offered was that many over-react to situations. Dr. Sherman said, "This is really because the present day incident is triggering something from the past." She went on to state that "the way she knows it is an 'old' issue that has gotten set off is when the reaction is immediate, very intense, and the person can't 'let-go' of it."

Sherman discussed how she employs visualizations as a tool to help people release old energy that is stored in the body. "It is this process," she notes, "that makes her tools different than traditional talk therapy where one gains insights."

Dresser had Dr. Sherman actually demonstrate a visualization to give the audience a clear picture of what the process looked like and its effectiveness.
