Kingswood to Host UK&I Launch of ArborCamp

The International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) is set to launch the first ArborCamp for the UK & Ireland at the 3rd annual Arb & Forestry Event, 15th & 16th July 2011.

Tonbridge, Kent, United Kingdom, July 13, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Originally founded in Australia, ArborCamp aims to educate and distribute knowledge on the newest safe-working practices in a relaxing and enjoyable environment. Both formal and informal workshops and seminars teach industry professionals traditional and new methods while still providing a great opportunity to network and socialise. The Kiddies Corner is a valuable way of engaging children, making it a fun filled weekend for all the family. The ArborCamp encourages attendees to set up tents and camping equipment, leaving the adults free to enjoy the onsite bar facilities ‘til late.

The Arb & Forestry Event 2011 organised by FR Jones & Sons and hosted by Kingswood Training Services at their site in Tonbridge, Kent, boasts free entry, free parking and naturally, free camping.

Lecturer, Assessor and Director of Kingswood Training Services, Richard Olley, explains: “After more years of working as a tree surgeon than I care to admit, it is actually very rewarding to pass on skills to younger guys at shows like this. It is also a real pleasure to meet ex students and find that they are now running successful businesses and thoroughly enjoying their careers in arboriculture.”

At this year’s event, Richard will be leading a rigging demonstration, focussing on anchor points, the do’s and don’ts of safe dismantling and presenting new equipment out this year.

Importantly, the event is not only designed to educate but allows exhibitors to display and offer the latest forestry equipment on the market. Top industry brands such as Stihl, Husqvarna, Oregon and Timberwolf are just a few of the exhibitors who will be welcoming arboricultural professionals to try out the equipment and grab themselves a bargain.

Year on year the Arb & Forestry Event grows in popularity and size. As well as proudly hosting the launch of ArborCamp this year, the event at Kingswood also holds competitions such as the Arboricultural Association Arborist Tree challenge, more commonly referred to as the 3ATC. The challenge has 3 categories of entrants: Premier, Expert and Novice with a prize also available for the person showing the most spirit of the competition.
