Perry Johnson Certifies eco International to EPA R2 Certification

Vestal, NY, July 16, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Perry Johnson Registrars, Inc announces the EPA R2 Certification of eco International.

The Recycling Practices Standard, known as R2, requires implementing a management system which is accountable for practices affecting worker health and safety, security, the environment, and the downstream management, both domestically and internationally, of end-of-life electronic material and equipment. It encompasses rather than replaces the legal obligations of electronics recyclers. Additionally, R2 is particularly focused on electronics which contain cathode ray tubes, circuit boards, items containing mercury/PCBs, and batteries, and seeks to ensure that these materials are not incinerated or land filled.

“eco International is one of a few legitimate New York e-waste recycling companies to meet the R2 certification requirements,” said Gary Pasquale, eco International’s Quality Assurance/Compliance Manager. “By exceeding the voluntary principles and guidelines designed to promote and assess responsible practices for electronics recyclers, eco International continues to demonstrate its commitment to the environment and responsible e-waste handling.”

Eco International, an ISO 14001:2004 Certified Recycler and Green America Approved Business, is located in Vestal, New York and serves a large customer base in New England and the Mid-Atlantic States. The company specializes in dismantling of electronic scrap and secure data destruction.
