Fort Worth Executive Luncheon

DFW AMA presents Simon Salt, describing the speed of growth and rise in prominence of location sharing sites, applications and devices, and offering tips on how businesses and marketers can best reap its vast rewards.

Dallas, TX, July 22, 2011 --(PR.com)-- As Facebook™ has demonstrated, people love to share. They love to share their photos, their relationship status, their innermost thoughts, and, to the blessing of marketers, their physical location. In fact, location sharing offers possibly the closest thing businesses will ever get to free advertising: with one click a user’s entire friend-list is sent a status update with the business’s name, whereabouts, and external site link—a digital billboard only centimeters in length. For those possibly disinclined to bombard their friends’ Newsfeed with every retail shop they visited on a recent trip to the mall, discount coupons can surely bring them into the fold, boosting sales in the process.

But while Facebook™ might be the biggest planet in the location-sharing orbit, it is by no means the only one. Simon Salt, CEO of the Marketing Communications Agency IncSlingers, has studied the field exhaustively and written a book in order to share (yes—he loves to share too) with other marketers what he learned.

On Thursday, July 28th, at Pappasito’s Cantina in Fort Worth, the Dallas Fort Worth American Marketing Association will host Salt as he explains in depth the promising new world of location sharing. Attendees should leave the event knowing how social location marketing works; what it can (and can’t) do for their business; which applications to use for which customers; who their customers are demographically, what their motivations are, and how to build marketing plans around those two; and how to use games, competitions, time-limited offers, and other innovative approaches to increase total revenue.

If at the end of the event you liked what you heard, please share or Tweet it to your friends.

Seating is limited. Register now to reserve a place. Interested parties can register online. The price for members is $25. For non-members who register before July 27th at 7:00 p.m. the cost is $30; after that the fee increases by $10. Student members are $10.
