Vail Dermatology to Support Pink Colorado with Anniversary Gift
Dermatology clinic to raise funds through Anniversary Event August 6-13th at their Edwards and Basalt locations.
Aspen, CO, July 23, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Vail Dermatology doctors Karen Nern and Jean Urquhart announced today their commitment to raising funds for “Pink Colorado” and the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Foundation this August by donating a portion of their Anniversary Event proceeds to the charitable foundation. The event will occur at Vail Dermatology’s two locations in Edwards (near Vail) and Basalt (near Aspen), Colo. from August 6-13, 2011 with the opener occurring Saturday, August 6, 2011 entitled, “Sunscreen Saturday.”
Vail Dermatology has committed to donating $1 per unit of Botox sold during this event. “We are excited to add Pink Colorado to our list of ongoing support of and commitment to the community,” stated Dr. Karen Nern. Vail Dermatology has supported many charitable organizations within the Vail and Roaring Fork valleys including the Vail Valley Charitable Fund, Friends of the Aspen Animal Shelter, First Descents, Relay for Life, and many more.
The Anniversary Event will include “Sunscreen Saturday” on August 6 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at their Edwards location. Free sample sized sunscreens will be handed out to the first 100 attendees, and high altitude skin care expert Dr. Karen Nern will be present to discuss caring for your skin at 7,221 feet (Edwards, Colo. elevation) and higher. Skin can be exposed to higher levels of radiation at higher altitudes according to Nern. “Your skin can burn within six minutes of exposure at high altitude,” she stated. “Sunscreen Saturday” will include information on the best sunscreens for high altitude exposure as well as expert high altitude skin care advice.
The Anniversary Event will also include a “Cool Night Out” presentation on CoolSculpting by Zeltiq, the fat freezing treatment, in Basalt (near Aspen) on Wednesday, August 10 and in Edwards (near Vail) Thursday, August 11 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Throughout the week, Vail Dermatology will also be providing free expert skin care consultations during regular business hours.
