Take a Walk on the Wild Side with Adventures in the Alps

Organised walking holidays in the French Alps

London, United Kingdom, July 30, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Adventures in the Alps has launched its organised walking holidays programme for autumn 2011. For those with a passion for exploring and walking, these holidays are a perfect way to experience the very best treks in the beautiful French Alps.

The luxury alpine retreats company has carefully mapped out a series of walking holidays aimed at all levels hosted by experienced mountain leader, Pip Line. The programme includes;

Walking Festival at La Clusaz / 26th – 29th August 2011 - From £350 (including half board chalet style accommodation, transfers, activities, training and equipment)

The internationally renowned walking and fell running festival, Le Belier, has been attracting keen competitors for over 20 years. The weekend is spent with Pip preparing for the traditional 27km off-road race around the La Clusaz ski resort. Climbing over 1000m, the race pits brave individuals against the dramatic landscape of the five peaks of the resort.

For those looking for the less extreme version, there is also a half course, L’Agneau, with cheese, wine and ham stops along the route, this is the perfect way to spend the August bank holiday weekend.

Savoie Walking Week in the Three Valleys of France / 11th – 17th September 2011- £750 (including full board chalet accommodation, transfers and walking guide)

From the valley floor to the mountain top, this week of walking promises to tantalise with the sights, smells and sounds of the Tarantaise Valley. Participants are treated to the breathtaking scenery, wildlife and Alpine fauna in the Three Valleys region.

The week is spent in the comfortable surroundings of a traditional savoyard chalet in the heart of the 3 Valleys, with the exception of one night spent in a refuge on the mountain. This tour is for walkers with some experience and a reasonable fitness level who want to explore the Alps.

Walking and Art Tour in the Alpes de Haute Provence Region / 20th-25th September 2011- £650 (including full board accommodation, transfers and walking guide)

This cultured walking holiday offers a unique opportunity to explore the Andy Goldsworthy series of sculptures and see the beautiful region of the Alpes de Haute Provence, a relatively unvisited part of France.

After arriving in Nice, guests will embark on a private train journey to picturesque Dignes Le Bains, where the walking begins. Every day provides a different walk to visit the sculptures and local viewpoints, culminating in a day’s walk through the stunning Verdon Gorge. Accommodation is in local gites and with picnics on route every day, walkers will really get a flavour of the area.
