Phoenix, AZ, August 03, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Collected Items Benefit Northern Arizona Residents in Need

From now until August 31, Fresh Start Community Services, Inc (Fresh Start Reentry Center, raises awareness of concerns and challenges of incarcerated men, women and youth at risk and provides support for their families. Services are offered for ex-offenders, displaced workers; adjudicate youth and youth at risk, homeless and working class poor), is partnering with Men’s Wearhouse to help disadvantaged job seekers get a boost of self-confidence during the fourth annual National Suit Drive, the country’s largest collection of gently used business attire.

This is Fresh Start Community Service’s second time joining Men’s Wearhouse and approximately 200 other charities to distribute the items collected at more than 900 Men’s Wearhouse locations. Items collected include men’s and women’s suits, shirts, jackets, ties, belts, and shoes. Residents of the Phoenix Metro Area may donate their gently used and cleaned items at 1945 E. Camelback Road, Phoenix, AZ, 16840 N 77th Avenue, Peoria, AZ, 10810 N. Tatum Blvd., Phoenix, AZ. Or go online at find a location near you http://menswearhouse.com.

“We are honored to partner with Men’s Wearhouse on this critical effort,” said Bruce Relf, CEO/Founder of Fresh Start Community Services, Inc. “Many men in the Metro Area are still struggling to find jobs as the economy slowly recovers. National Suit Drive will empower these men with the self-confidence that comes from looking sharp and help them stand out from the crowd of job seekers.”

Although the recession has affected a broad spectrum of the American workforce, a higher percent of job losses have befallen men, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, due to the economy’s particularly heavy impact on male-dominated industries such as construction and manufacturing. In Phoenix Metro the unemployment rate hit 8.0% in May, 2011 proving that many are still struggling to find work.

“With nearly one out of ten working-age men unemployed in this country, the weak economic recovery has disproportionately hurt the male workforce,” said George Zimmer, Men’s Wearhouse founder and CEO. “By collecting and donating professional clothing, Men’s Wearhouse aims to help men ‘suit up’ for job interviews and give them an important boost of confidence that will help them reach their goals.”

Nationally, Men’s Wearhouse hopes to collect more than 100,000 articles of clothing to benefit charities like Fresh Start Reentry Center. In 2010, Fresh Start Community Services, Inc was able to help hundreds of men in the Phoenix Metro Area get professional suits for their next job interview.

“I have never owned a suit before, much less worn one. Coming to Fresh Start Reentry Center and participating in the programs help me understand the process I needed to follow to reintegrate back into society after a very trying time in my life.” George (recipient of clothing and suit in 2010 annual Suit Up 4 Life Event.)

To thank donors for their generosity, Men’s Wearhouse will reward them with 50% off a purchase at Men’s Wearhouse and will donate a tie for every suit received. What’s more is that for every “like” on Facebook, Men’s Wearhouse will donate a $1 to the cause, up to $10,000.
